A young American we met in Skypeland wanted to talk about how evil the United States is since Alan Greenspan had said that the US went to Iraq for its oil. We told him how Greenspan had backtracked from his statements, in newspaper interviews in the Washington Post and on NPR:

After arguing with him for a while, he admitted that he had known Greenspan had taken back what he had said and had clarified it when he realized how it was being taken too negatively in the media. Ah...so he knew already...but still wanted to spread negative information.
When we told him the danger of spreading such false negative information, he at least listened. I do not necessarily believe he absorbed it. However, I would not have bought it before spending some time talking to people from the Middle East in Skypeland.
