Two Aussies in Skypeland started arguing about the age of Hinduism. One person said that Hinduism is older than Christianity; he claimed that Hinduism was about 7000 years old. The other Aussie claimed this was not true, and disputed it based on "radiocarbon dating", which he said was nonsense. They both went back and forth, each claiming that the onus was on the other Aussie to present evidence that his position was wrong. (I looked this up, and the best evidence we have of early Hinduism dates from about 5000 years ago: http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/hinduism/history/history_1.shtml )
One of the Aussies said that radiocarbon dating was good for dating things 38,000 years old, and the other claimed that radiocarbon dating was only good for things less than 10,000 years old. The "Christian" was smug and ignorant. The person arguing the side of science was unable to state any evidence. It was basically ludicrous...
I looked this up, since the ages both sounded wrong to me, and sure enough I was correct. Radiocarbon dating allows one to date things up to about 60,000 years of age:

I wish I was able to talk to them, where I could point out that 100s of different dating methods all agree with each other. This includes all kinds of ring counting methods like dendrochronology, and counting of layers of mud and snow and coral etc. Oh brother...
Addendum:
I had an instant message exchange with one of the Aussies:
S says: Not much of a Christian are you ?
[2:42:46 AM] J says: because you say so?
[2:43:13 AM] J says: sounds rather judgemental too me
[2:43:28 AM] J says: ;)
[2:45:31 AM] J says: If you dont like being told the truth , its going to offend you however i say it
[2:55:50 AM] S says: haha
[2:55:57 AM] S says: I know you have your own meaning of truth
[2:56:05 AM] S says: there is truth...and there is truth
[2:56:35 AM] S says: You just are not my image of a Christian but you are free to believe whatever you like
