Current slavery in America

One hears nonsense about all kinds of topics in Skypeland. A young Muslim from Algeria claimed that there is still slavery in the United States. We asked her where there is slavery in the US right now.

She said that because some people were opposed to having Barack Obama as president of the US, and this meant that the US had slavery still. At this claim, I said she obviously did not understand what the word "slave" meant. I asked her what her definition of the word "slave" was. She refused to say. I told her I would tell her what my definition of the word "slave" was, but she said she was not interested and did not want to hear it.

She said that when the US interfered with the affairs of other countries, it was a "form of slavery".

While we puzzled about this young Algerian's claims, an Israeli in the room pointed out that this Algerians cannot say what she really believes because of the government control in her country. A Canadian agreed, and asserted that the Americans were not practicing slavery, but her own government in Algeria was..
